Privacy Policy
How personal data is managed on the Zelene website and in expressions of interest from the Zellers community.
Who we are and who processes data
Zelene is a community-driven technology project under development, aiming to create digital tools for creators and communities. Different contributors may help develop and coordinate it, but that does not automatically make the community or a future Zelene DAO legally responsible for processing personal data.
Responsibility for personal data collected through zelene.org rests with the individual or legal entity that actually determines the purposes and means of its processing.
Scope of this policy
This Policy describes personal-data processing associated with Zelene's informational website, contact channels and features actually enabled, including the form used to express an interest in collaborating with Zellers.
Services described in the whitepaper or roadmap that are still being developed, such as creator accounts, posts, subscriptions, payments and wallet connections, are not currently available features. Before they are enabled, this Policy will be reviewed as necessary to explain the specific processing involved.
Third-party sites and services linked by Zelene may have their own privacy policies.
How to contact us
For questions about personal-data use and privacy-related requests, contact the official channel at privacy@zelene.org and use “Data Protection” as the subject.
Before providing, changing or deleting information, strictly necessary identity verification may be requested to prevent third parties from accessing someone else's data.
Requests will be handled within the time limits established by applicable law.
How we obtain information
We may receive data directly when you complete the Zellers form, submit an inquiry or communicate through official channels. Technical data relating to browsing, security and operation may also be generated when you visit the site, depending on its infrastructure configuration.
Social networks, wallets, explorers and external platforms receive data under their own terms when you choose to interact with them. Merely linking to those services does not mean Zelene automatically obtains their data.
Submitting an expression of interest is voluntary, but fields identified as required must be completed to process the request.
What personal data we may process
The information processed depends on the feature you use. The website and available forms may include the following categories:
- Identity and contact: name or public name and email address entered by you.
- Participation in Zellers: area of interest, availability, optional portfolio or GitHub URL, and an optional short description of experience or proposed contribution.
- Application-related data: page language and date of acceptance of the privacy statement, if those fields are implemented.
- Technical data: IP address, browser, access date, error and security logs, to the extent the infrastructure processes or records them.
- Communications: information you choose to provide when contacting official channels.
Data concerning accounts, creator profiles, internal transactions and payments relates to future features and will require specific disclosures if activated. We do not request seed phrases or private keys through forms.
Why we use data and on what basis
Data may be processed to receive, record, review and respond to expressions of interest; answer inquiries; keep the website secure and available; prevent abusive automated submissions; and comply with applicable legal obligations.
The legal basis must be established for each purpose under applicable law. Depending on the circumstances, it may be specific consent, steps requested before entering into a collaboration, a legal obligation or a properly assessed legitimate interest. Checking a policy-acceptance box does not automatically constitute valid consent for every processing activity.
Advertising communications, mailing lists and purposes unnecessary to handling a request require their own legal basis and, where applicable, separate authorization. An expression of interest is not an automatic marketing subscription.
Expressions of interest in Zellers
The Contributors Network / Zellers form allows a person to express interest in supporting Zelene's development. The submitted information is processed by the application's server and, if validation succeeds, stored in the database configured to manage applications.
Current submitted fields include name, email, area of interest, availability, optional portfolio links and an optional experience description. The system may also retain the active language and the date of acceptance of the disclosed terms.
These data help assess the proposed area of collaboration and, where appropriate, contact the interested person. Submitting the form does not constitute employment, automatic membership, a promise of payment or an allocation of ZEL.
Access must be limited to authorized people who genuinely need to handle the applications. Lists of participants are not made public merely because someone completed the form.
Wallets and blockchain technology
Zelene envisages future features on Solana which may require connecting a wallet and processing a public address, authentication-signature data or public transaction references, depending on the feature and implementation.
Future wallet integration does not mean the current Zellers form requires such data. Before enabling connections, payments or other on-chain functions, the data used, purposes and implications will be explained.
Cookies and similar technologies
The site may use session cookies, form-protection mechanisms and storage needed for essential functions, security, preferences or browsing continuity. The actual presence and scope of each technology depend on the implemented configuration.
If non-essential analytics, advertising or personalization tools are introduced, their providers and purposes will be explained and any required permissions obtained before activation, where applicable.
You can also review and manage cookies through your browser. This Policy does not claim a dedicated preferences panel exists unless it has actually been enabled.
Communications and updates
We may use the email provided to confirm receipt, request additional information or communicate the outcome of an expression of interest when relevant.
General updates, promotional campaigns and newsletters will not be sent solely because someone submitted a Zellers form without a valid legal basis. When an optional subscription becomes available, a withdrawal or unsubscribe method must be explained.
Who may receive the data
Form data may be accessible to authorized contributors handling applications and to providers actually involved in hosting, storage, security, maintenance or delivery of communications, only to the extent necessary.
Information may also have to be disclosed to authorities where legally required. It must not be published as a public participant list or used for purposes incompatible with those disclosed.
Providers, recipients and their roles must be verified against the infrastructure actually contracted and described in this Policy when required by applicable law.
International processing and transfers
International participation in the project and possible use of external providers may mean that some data are processed in countries other than the visitor's country or that of the party responsible for the site.
Before international transfers take place, it will be checked whether they are lawful and which notices, adequacy decisions, contracts, safeguards or other mechanisms are required by applicable law.
How long data are retained
Contact data and expressions of interest must be retained only for as long as justified to assess applications, maintain relevant communication and meet legal obligations. Technical logs may have separate retention periods linked to security and operation.
When the purpose ends and retention obligations expire, data must be deleted or anonymized where feasible. Data independently published on a public blockchain may remain accessible beyond the site's control.
Information security
The site must protect personal data using risk-appropriate measures, such as access controls, input validation, protection against abusive automated requests, secure database administration, maintenance and backups where needed.
Measures actually implemented must be verified and kept up to date. No internet-connected system is completely secure. Report any suspected unauthorized data use or vulnerability through the official privacy channel.
Your data rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to learn whether your data are processed, access them, request correction or deletion, object to or restrict certain processing, request portability where provided by law, and withdraw consent when it is the legal basis.
To exercise your rights, use the contact information in this Policy. Requests will be handled subject to applicable deadlines, identity checks, exceptions and procedures.
You may also complain to the competent data-protection authority where appropriate. Which authority is competent depends on the actual controller, location and applicable legislation; exclusive competence is not automatically attributed to an Estonian authority.
Minors
Expressions of interest and Zelene community features must be used in accordance with age-of-capacity and consent requirements in each jurisdiction. The contributor form is not specifically designed to collect data from minors.
If personal data from a minor are found to have been processed without valid permission or legal grounds, legally required measures will be assessed, including deletion where appropriate.
External links and services
Zelene's website may link to social networks, Solana explorers, wallet providers and other third-party services. When using them, their operators may process the data you provide or that are collected during your interaction under their own privacy policies.
External links do not necessarily mean Zelene shares personal data with those parties. If future services or integrations require disclosing data, their purposes and the third parties involved will be explained in accordance with applicable law.
Before sharing personal information, connecting a wallet or using an external service, check that its address is official and review its terms and privacy policy.
Applicable law and competent authority
Zelene currently operates as a community project administered by the Zellers, who manage its organization and development until Zelene DAO is operational. At this stage, legal responsibility for processing personal data rests with the person or persons who actually determine its purposes and means.
Personal-data processing is subject to applicable legislation, taking into account the controller's location, the nature of the activities and users' rights. Where appropriate, individuals may exercise their rights and lodge complaints with the competent data-protection authority.
Launching Zelene DAO in the future may change the project's administration and responsibilities. Any resulting changes to personal-data processing will comply with applicable law and be communicated transparently.
Changes to this policy
This Policy may be updated if available features, data actually processed, infrastructure, recipients or legal obligations change. The current version will be published and material changes communicated where required.
